I am probably one of the worst pool players... ever, but it's very fun for me to watch. There's something so delightful about the lines created with the pool cues, the archer-like poses of a person preparing their shot, and the bright felt covered table dotted with multi-colored balls. Such a simple thing, a classic game, but kind of beautiful when you take a closer look atJe' Warrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14793242799653347222noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5240536761588954943.post-41574404002058338632011-12-05T10:00:00.000-08:002011-12-05T10:00:01.627-08:00An experiment in pushing filmIt's been quite some time since I've shot a roll of film and actually developed it. I literally have hundreds of undeveloped photos just waiting to surprise me, but in this oh so cheap and easy digital age, the poor things just keep getting put off.
When I first looked at the photos from my latest roll of actual film (and color at that!), I was so disappointed in myself. I had forgotten exactly how cold my apartment can get, and it's still not even that cold; plus, I live in an area where I'm almost certain we cannot technically count our winters as such. Yet, I am much like a chihuahua, tiny and lacking insulation. The result is experiencing seizure-like shivers during the mere two degree temperature drop Je' Warrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14793242799653347222noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5240536761588954943.post-66013524273248776912011-11-20T00:05:00.000-08:002011-11-20T01:19:48.783-08:00Fall in OregonA couple weeks ago my Mum and I took a short road trip up to Oregon. We visited my brother and his family in Corvallis, and also stopped in Ashland. It was a breathtaking drive with the dark green pines providing a stark backdrop for the bright reds, yellows, and oranges of their deciduous counterparts. I really should have tried to take some pictures during the actual drive, Je' Warrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14793242799653347222noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5240536761588954943.post-43827707637572781862011-07-18T10:00:00.000-07:002011-07-18T10:00:06.570-07:00Fun with Baking! It's not often that I bake during the day as of late. For some reason, I only seem to crave something sweet to eat at night, but last week I finally found myself baking in the late afternoon. The fading sun was creeping through my tiny kitchen windows and I had to take the rare opportunity to get some nice baking pictures.

I'd never paid attention to the new spring growth on a tree until living next to this one. Being on the second floor, I've gotten the perfect view of this fascinating process. One afternoon I couldn't help but snap some photos.

Our friend Ash met up with us on his journey back from further south and they ventured home the next day. these images were so much fun to create! using just an external flash and a long exposure, the only thing i tweaked in photoshop was the color. i love the rich design of the carpet coupled with the overlaying of multiple exposures due to the use of flash.

recently i went to the japanese tea gardens in san francisco with my mr., his mum, sister, and niece. it's right next to the de young museum, where we saw the king tut exhibit on the same day. unfortunately, they wouldn't allow pictures in the exhibit, otherwise there'd be some of that as well. anywho, here are some pictures from the gardens, it was beautiful!

Ok, so, my garden? GOING CRAZY! the zucchini plants are taking over everything!! i've had to break the leaves off to keep them from covering the basil completely (which is now a good sized bush itself!) and it's already taken over the poor tomato plant... but, unfortunately, the tomato plant hasn't been lookin' too hot for a long time now. it's weird though, it's trying really hard to grow Je' Warrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14793242799653347222noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5240536761588954943.post-65591212011084584732009-08-11T03:56:00.001-07:002011-05-13T19:06:17.421-07:00growingsome pictures of my garden, i love it so much, brings me a lot of peace.
